The Hershey Foundation directors pledge to continue the philanthropic tradition established by Jo Hershey Selden in memory of her husband, Alvin A. Hershey — providing bridges of opportunity for the children of Northeast Ohio.
SARA B. GUREN
President
Sara Guren joined the Foundation board in 2018 and became board president in 2025. The impact that The Hershey Foundation has made in the community inspires Sara to continue to support children in Northeast Ohio and carry out the Foundation’s mission going forward.
ZACHARY A. GUREN
Vice President
Zach Guren joined the Foundation board in 2016. Zach is proud that The Hershey Foundation has dedicated 40 years to supporting children in Northeast Ohio and excited about the opportunity to help carry that dedication into the future.
ADAM M. GUREN
Treasurer
Adam Guren joined the Foundation board since 2009 stepping into the role of treasurer. He is the founder and CIO of Hunting Hill Global Capital, which launched its first fund in 2012. Adam received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a focus in Entrepreneurial Management. Adam holds a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.
DEBRA HERSHEY GUREN
Secretary
Debbie retired after 35 years as board president in 2025. She has worked with over 260 organizations to fulfill the mission of The Hershey Foundation to benefit children in NE Ohio. An avid supporter of Montessori, Debbie has provided leadership for Montessori Development Partnerships since 1990 and Hershey Montessori School since 1984.
CAROLE HERSHEY WALTERS
Director
Carole Hershey Walters has been on the Foundation board since its inception in 1986. Carole has a passion for the arts and the sciences.
DAVID J. WALTERS
Director
Dave Walters joined the Foundation board in 2016. Dave recognizes the impact foundations such as ours can have on the community. He is proud to be a part of the Foundation’s work supporting positive change and growth in Northeast Ohio.
ALECIA MAY
Director of Foundation Administration
Alecia May has been with the Foundation since 2014. She enjoys and is inspired by the work of the Hershey Family. Alecia is grateful to be a part of an organization that has such a positive impact on her local community in meaningful ways.
